NETC Update
The Holiday season is fast approaching and we are beginning to prepare for next summer.  This edition of the NETC Newsletter includes over 175 photos from NETC 2003 together with all the Team and Tournament results.  We hope you enjoy it!
Look for our ads this year in the NY Times Magazine Section, USTA Yearbooks in Eastern, Middle States and New England Tennis Week, and Tennis Magazine.  The 2004 NETC Brochure will be mailed in early December. Don't forget the Early Registration Discount!
We appreciate the response to the Survey which went out about two weeks ago.  We appreciate your comments and feedback!  If you haven't yet returned your Survey, please do so ASAP!
See you in 2004!

Survey Results
Thanks to all of you who responded to the survey this year. As usual we got some great suggestions!
We'll post survey results soon!

Knee Update
Those of you who attended Sessions 2, 3, or 4 know about the injury to Gordon's knee suffered at Noon on Thursday, July 17 on Court 1 during the Beat the Pro game.  He had surgery on July 21 to repair the ruptured quad tendon and spent the remainder of the summer hobbling around with a full length leg brace.  As of this moment Gordon is going to physical therapy twice a week and exercises daily on his own.  The progress has been steady and he should be back on the court in January or February.

Staff News
It seems like most of our 2003 staff has migrated to Australia for the winter!  NETC Assistant Director
Colin Mansell is spending his third season in the Land Down Under teaching tennis at a large club.  Colin knows Karen Highfield from her days as a junior player in England.  She is also teaching this winter in Australia, I guess it's summer down there.  For some reason NETC counselor Billy Popejoy from Oklahoma is also spending the winter in Australia.  Of course, Adam Dickson is back at home in Australia.  Maggie Wheeler, who attends Brown University, is spending a semester abroad this spring in Australia.  An NETC reunion, Australian style, is definitely in order!  Luis Checa is working at Roosevelt Island Racquet Club in New York City with Gordon.  Luis' son Michael is a senior in high school this year and is training for a rematch with sister Alexandra.  Our resident "Greek" Elena Synesi is back home in England working on a two-handed backhand to compliment that annoying slice.  (Anna said it was annoying after they played a match.)  She is also teaching some locals and is using many of the drills and games she learned at NETC this summer.  Anna Dow, veteran of two campaigns at NETC, is back at school in Illinois.  We've already received an email from Beth Humble saying she wants to return next summer.  Abby Robinson, a NYC native and graduate of Fieldston School, is attending Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.  Chris Simon worked only Sessions 3 and 4 this summer after spending all of the 2002 summer at camp.  He is now back at school in Germany.  David Raim is a freshman at the Rochester Institute of Technology.  Two more of our NETC 2003 counselors, Hjalde Wulff and Gemma Collett, are also back at school in England.  If Hjalde doesn't exactly sound like a traditional English name, that's because his family is from Denmark.  Gemma wins the awards for Most Letters Written and Most Mail Received by a counselor at NETC in 2003.  (She received an average of five letters daily.)  Dave Span is continuing his musical career as a drummer.  His sons Skip and Cobi are veteran NETC campers.  NETC Office Manager, Catherine Larkin, is back at SUNY Cortland where she is studying Sports Management.  Catherine also works for the Hudson Valley Renegades baseball team in the summer.  NETC Nurses Ginny Collucci and Sue McMillen are both nurses at schools in the Pawling area.

Early Registration Discount
Campers who attended NETC in 2002 or 2003 are eligible for a discount on their 2004 camp tuition. Anyone registering before December 1, 2003 will receive a $200 per session discount.
Don't miss on this opportunity!
